SMD, COB, and CSP: What Do They Mean?

SMD (Surface-Mounted Device) LED strips are the most familiar format. Individual LEDs are soldered onto a flexible PCB, giving designers a wide choice of brightness levels, colors, and densities. COB (Chip on Board) technology places multiple LED chips directly onto the substrate and covers them with a single phosphor layer.
