Heat-shrink tubing can be added for strain relief, but it should not replace the inner seal.
  • Use aluminum channels for protection and heat control. Aluminum channels fix the strip, protect it from impact, guide the light line, and help manage heat. For waterproof work, make sure the channel does not trap standing water. Leave drainage paths where needed.
  • Protect drivers, controllers, and cable joints. The strip may be waterproof, but the power supply, controller, dimmer, and cable joint may not be. Place these parts in protected positions or sealed electrical boxes, and route cable entries downward so water does not run directly into the connection area.
